Happy Birthday OWH!!

Hey All!! It's OWH's birthday!  Another year of making a difference in the lives of our Heroes and their families!!

This week's Midweek Throwdown is to make Red, White and Blue Anyhero cards!! Fitting isn't it!

Inspires Me
I love this Ciara stamp from Stampers Best!  I have to admit I have a hard time coloring her.  I usually color about 4 images at a time just trying to get one right!

Well thanks for stopping by and looking!  Make sure to stop by the OWH site to say 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' and play along!

OWH Midweek Throwdown

Hey All!!  It's Midweek Throwdown time over on the S&S blog. This week you are challenged to make kid cards with scallops.  We have Lawn Fawn inspired samples to get your creativity going!

I kept my card mostly simple.  The DSP is Basic Greys Shine On pack that I used a border punch on and some dimensional adhesive to make the scallops pop.  A little twine and some faux stitching for the border.  The cute cat is from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the 'Burbs set.

Lawn Fawn Kids Card

Hey All!!  It's Birthday Bash time again for Operation Write Home!  This week we are celebrating with Lawn Fawn.  Check out the OWH page for more details!

Today is a bonus sketch challenge! Here's my sample card!

Lawn Fawn
I used Lawn Fawn's Critters in the 'Burbs set to make my sample.  It's a great set with a bunch of cute little critters!  The paper set is Basic Greys Shine On.  I even cut the banner from one of the sheets of DSP in the set.  I cut the card base 4.25 x 4.5 and then positioned the circle to extend to the 5.5 mark.

I hope you all have enjoyed my sample!  Go check out what the rest of the OWH gals created and make sure to look for more Lawn Fawn samples this week at Operation Write Home!

MWT Get Your Kraft On

Hey all!

Just wanted to share with you the sample cards I made for this weeks OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge, Using Kraft!
My Thoughts Today
I think this is one of my personal favorites.  I cut up the 12 squares at 1.25" and pieced them in a quilt pattern.  Great way for using up scraps!  The paper is Basic Grey's Serendipity and the sentiment is by Verve.  That cute butterfly brad? I wish I could remember where it came from!

I Miss You
Same Serendipity stack used on this card! It's such a pretty stack and all those papers match beautifully with one another.  The sentiment is from the OWH Hero Arts set Year Round Sentiments.  The image is from Whipper Snappers.

My Country Blog Hop

Hey All!  I hope you're enjoying all of the wonderful cards and inspiration along the hop!  You should have come from the very talented Gitte's blog but if not, you can start at the beginning at the Stars and Stamps blog.

God Bless

I had a lot of fun making this card.  All the little details just make me smile.  The sentiment is from Stampers Best and that wonderful eagle is by Our Daily Bread.  I created the Red White and Blue background myself using scraps .5" x 1.75".  I drew a straight line with a ruler for my guide and ran them through an embossing folder once finished.  I think it gives it a nice quilted look.

Bonus Sketch

Thanks for stopping by!  You next stop on this hop is the very talented Stinne.

Sketch 127 and MWT

Hey All!!  My card for you today covers both the current sketch 127 and Midweek Throwdown (Monkey) over on Stars and Stamps.

So Special
I'm finally digging into my stash and using patterned paper.  Although I was scared at first, it feels really good to cut up a fresh piece of DSP!  The paper is from a DCWV stack I've had for a long time...too long honestly.  The  monkey is by Autumn Leaves and the sentiment is by Hero Arts.   Having no fancy embellishing makes this card perfect for our small Heroes.

Have a great weekend and make sure to go play along!

Crafty Contagion

Hey All!  There's a new challenge going on over at the Crafty Contagion...Masculine cards!  Make sure to pop on over and play along!

Happy Birthday!
This card was super quick to make.  The sentiment and corner rounding punch are by Stampin' Up! and the paper is Pages of Honor by SignifyPink.  I cut up a bunch of 1 inch squares and rounded one side of each.  Pretty simple and still masculine!

OWH Sketch Challenge 119

Hey All!   There's a new sketch challenge up on the Stars and Stamps blog!! Make sure to go play along!
I made the sample for this weeks sketch challenge 119 and thought I'd share what I did.
Thanks
I love layers!  I think they just really help to make everything pop!  I used my Cuttle Bug to make the stars embossed background.  I used thin dimensionals to pop the camouflage layer and used hemp twine to separate the two pieces.  I popped the circle layer and then added some liquid pearls to match the scallop border on the camouflage layer.  The star is just a Sizzix die that I popped and added the sentiment straight to.  The sentiment is by Verve and came free with one of my recent orders.

OWH Sketch Challenge 116

Oh my! I haven't blogged on here since February!  I do apologize to my followers.  Sometimes I just find myself in a deep rut.  No mojo.  No desire to make cards or even sew.  I'm back though.  I made 5 cards in 1 day.  5.  Me.  I'm quite proud and happy to finally have something to share with all of you.

thinking of you
I used this weeks S&S Sketch Challenge 116.  The papers are from a DCWV stack that has been in my stash for way too long.  The image is Daffodil Charlotte by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  I used my Copics to color her and then added a ton of stitching before assembling all the layers.  The sentiment was hard to place so I cut it up like Pam did on her card and it worked!

Seeing Green!

Hey All!

The Crafty Contagion is holding another challenge and today's is the color green!  Make sure to stop by and play along with the rest of the Divas!

I Love You
I'm still using my Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments for a lot of my cards lately.  I stamped three hearts and then fussy cut them and popped them with dimensionals.  I then added some bakers twine followed by stamping the sentiment.  I'm loving the CAS phase that I'm stuck in these days!

OWH VCMP Fun!

Hey All!!  I'm catching up on life after CHA and DisneyLand and managed to sneak a card in to share with you!  While Sandy's out at sea, the OWH team is holding a Virtual Card Making Party!  How fun!!
I Miss You
I used a regular heart punch to get the heart effect.  Time consuming but worth it!  It also gave my 4yr old something to punch!  The sentiment used on my card is from the Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments set.
Maile Belles
I was inspired by this card by Maile Belles.  Her card is totally adorable and sweet!

I'm submitting my card for the following VCMP challenges:
VCMP #6 Sand and Sea  Blue heart and twine and Kraft card stock as my tan!
VCMP #7 CAS  Though punching and adhering all those hearts may not really be simple!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

S&S Sketch Challenge #104

Hey All!  I am on a total patriotic Thank You kick it seems.  I'm not complaining though! I'm truly grateful for the sacrifices our Heroes make!  The following card is for the OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #104.

Thank You
I've been doing a lot of sewing lately so it felt really great to get my hands back on paper!  I used the Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments set for the stars and sentiment and some divine twine.

THANKS for stopping by!

S&S Sketch Challenge #102

Hey All!  I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year! Sketch 102 is up on the S&S blog so make sure you go play along!
We Salute You
I really like this sketch.  It's super simple and you could switch it up with twine or ribbon rather than those paper strips.  I used an Amuse stamp set given to me by a friend that I believe is called Hero Mail.  This card is off to my AnyHero pile.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fabulous week!
